Specifications
|
The non-video portion of the ad unit should adhere to the
guidelines for the ad unit as specified above, including backup
gifs.

Duration

Video streams may not exceed 30 seconds in length

Yahoo In-House Solutions
Raw Video to be supplied in AVI, VHS, Digital Video or BetaSP
formats.
Raw Video to be delivered 2 weeks prior to live date
General video streaming guidelines:
All sound must be user-initiated
Must have video play/stop and sound on/off controls as standard
All text in video must be visible at all times
"Terms and Conditions must apply" text must appear on Financial
services advertisements containing a promotional offer.
Please NOTE: audio served in conjunction with a video stream
must conform to the 30-second limit. Audio served independent of a
video stream may be streamed in increments of 15, or 30-second
spots.
3rd Party Ads
Third party video ads are accepted on Yahoo! properties, but not all
vendors. Please consult the 3rd party site for further information (http://adscenter.europe.yahoo.com/techvendors/) or
contact your sales representative

Video Player + Datawindow
This bespoke format is available in our News and Launch
Properties.
Data Window
The Data Window component has the same specifications as the
standard 350x250 ad unit (see above) except that sound cannot be
used.
Video Window
For all formats, we need the highest video quality possible
preferably from the master source. Video should be 4:3 aspect ratio at
Full frame (29.97 fps)
Video Formats Accepted
BetaSP
DVD
Uncompressed .AVI
If providing AVI please ensure that it is:
a. Captured from one of the above formats, or exported in
non-compressed AVI
b. 320 x 240 MINIMUM capture settings (taken from the master source),
or export settings
c. Full frame, 29.97 fps
d. Delivery on DVD-ROM only, but can also receive file via ftp
Note: Yahoo! will review your capture upon submission to check for
quality and compatibility

Content Hosting
The datawindow component and streaming audio may not be served by a
third party.
Tracking
Datawindows (but not streams) may submit a redirect and a 1x1 pixel
for clicks and impressions.
3rd Party Tracking
If you wish to track a yahoo tech ad via a third party the following
needs to be supplied:
- An independent click command for the destination URL of the .swf
file
- A 1x1 image pixel tracker to track the pageviews of the
flash.
- If multiple click commands are required please specify which
click command corresponds to which section of the advertisement.
